Our lab has received a number of scientific awards since its inception in 2007.

Best Reviewer Award CVPR 2023 Simone Schaub-Meyer was chosen as one of the 232 best reviewers (out of a total of over 7000 reviewers) of the IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2023.
Honorable Mention for Best Paper GCPR 2021 Jan-Martin Steitz and Stefan Roth won the Honorable Mention for Best Paper award at the German Conference for Pattern Recognition 2021 for the paper “TxT: Crossmodal end-to-end learning with transformers” (jointly with J. Pfeiffer and I. Gurevych).
Longuet-Higgins Prize 2020 Deqing Sun, Stefan Roth, and Michael J. Black were awarded the Longuet-Higgins Prize 2020 of the IEEE PAMI Technical Committee for their CVPR 2010 paper “Secrets of Optical Flow and Their Principles”.
Uni-DAS Science Prize 2018 Marius Cordts was awarded the Uni-DAS Science Prize 2018 of Uni-DAS e.V. for his outstanding dissertation in the area of autonomous driving.
Best Reviewer Award CVPR 2018 Junhwa Hur, Tobias Plötz, Stephan Richter and Anne Wannenwetsch were chosen as one of 164 best reviewers (out of a total of over 2000 reviewers) of the IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2018.
Best PhD Thesis in Computer Science 2017 Uwe Schmidt received the prize for outstanding scientific contributions in the category Best PhD thesis in Computer Science by the Association of Friends of TU Darmstadt.
Best Reviewer Award NIPS 2017 Stefan Roth was chosen as one of 75 best reviewers (out of a total of over 2000 reviewers) of Neural Information Processing Systems 2017.
Best Paper Award CVRSUAD 2016 Junhwa Hur and Stefan Roth won the Best Paper Award at the Workshop on Computer Vision for Road Scene Understanding and Autonomous Driving (jointly with ECCV 2016) for the paper “Joint Optical Flow and Temporally Consistent Semantic Segmentation”.
Outstanding Reviewer Award ECCV 2016 Tobias Plötz was chosen as one of 71 outstanding reviewers (out of a total of 1163) of the European Conference on Computer Vision 2016.
Best Paper Award IV 2016 Marius Cordts, Timo Rehfeld and Stefan Roth won the Best Paper Award (First Prize) at the IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium 2016 for the paper “Semantic Stixels: Depth is Not Enough” (jointly with L. Schneider, D. Pfeiffer, M. Enzweiler, U. Franke, and M. Pollefeys).
2015 PAMI Mark Everingham Prize The 2015 PAMI Mark Everingham Prize was awarded to the Middlebury Datasets created by Daniel Scharstein, Richard Szeliski, and team. The award recognizes “a series of datasets and on-line evaluations, starting with the Stereo datasets in 2001, and extending to Optical Flow, MRF and others, which have inspired many other datasets.” Stefan Roth was part of the Middlebury Optical Flow team.
Outstanding Reviewer Award ICCV 2015 Stefan Roth was chosen as one of 68 outstanding reviewers (out of a total of 1233) of the IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision, 2015.
Outstanding Reviewer Award CVPR 2015 Stefan Roth was chosen as one of 75 outstanding reviewers (out of a total of 1238) of the IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition 2015.
Capital Magazine's 2014 Top 40 under 40, Category Science Stefan Roth was listed as one of the top 40 scientists in Germany under the age of 40 by Capital Magazine.
Outstanding Reviewer Award CVPR 2014 Stefan Roth was chosen as an outstanding reviewer of the IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition 2014.
Marr Prize (Honorable Mention) ICCV 2013 Christoph Vogel and Stefan Roth were awarded an Honorable Mention for the Marr Prize at the IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision 2013 for the paper “Piecewise Rigid Scene Flow” (jointly with K. Schindler).
GCPR Main Prize 2013 Timo Scharwächter und Stefan Roth were awarded a Main Prize at the 35th German Conference on Pattern Recognition for the paper “Efficient Multi-Cue Image Segmentation” (jointly with M. Enzweiler and U. Franke).
Best Student Paper Award CVPR 2013 Uwe Schmidt and Stefan Roth were awarded a best student paper award at the IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition 2013 for the paper “Discriminative Non-Blind Deblurring” (jointly with C. Rother, S. Nowozin and J. Jancsary).
Heinz Maier-Leibnitz-Prize 2012 Stefan Roth was awarded the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz-Prize of the German Research Foundation (DFG).
DAGM Prize 2012 Qi Gao and Stefan Roth were awarded a DAGM Prize at the 34th Symposium of the German Association for Pattern Recognition for the paper “How well do filter-based MRFs model natural images?”.
Capital Magazine's 2012 Top 40 under 40, Category Science Stefan Roth was listed as one of the top 40 scientists in Germany under the age of 40 by Capital Magazine.
Adolf Messer Prize 2011 Stefan Roth was awarded the Adolf Messer Prize by the Adolf Messer Foundation and Technische Universität Darmstadt.
Olympus Prize 2010 Stefan Roth was awarded the Olympus Prize of the German Association for Pattern Recognition.
Outstanding Reviewer Award ICCV 2009 Stefan Roth was chosen as one of 31 outstanding reviewers (out of a total of 732) of the IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision 2009.
